Chirality in Practice
Extending Human Capability with Agents

Authorship and the character of this book
This book develops the reflective side of Chirality. It continues the argument of Purpose, Participation, and Judgment through an examination of work. It asks how an undertaking gets its direction, how contributions become usable together, and how experience can change the means that the next undertaking uses. Agents help with interpretation, comparison, drafting and examination. The author decides the intended meaning and which text to accept and publish. The account uses an impersonal voice, and a constructed case is not testimony about the author's experience.
People and agents can use the book as material for thought and criticism. The commitments and selected instructions of their own undertaking remain the basis for execution. An explanation can disagree with an instruction, and the disagreement can matter. But the explanation does not automatically replace the instruction.
The account distinguishes the author's commitments, interpretations of documented experience, and proposals for how practice could develop. Agreement with the thesis gives conceptual grounding. It is not independent empirical confirmation. A plausible arrangement can remain a design hypothesis, even when particular cases support some of its relationships.
The cases rest on different grounds. Chapter 4 examines one App episode in which the owner redirected the work and asked for the resulting lessons to inform shared guidance. Chapter 9 examines the concentrated Root library undertaking. Chapters 10 and 11 contain constructed examples, including work after acceptance. The thesis gives a separately dated account of App and SWBPIPE experience. Earlier App and Piping work took place in a shared repository, before the projects separated.
This book selects a small part of those records, mostly about library maintenance. That selection is a boundary of the inquiry. It does not mean that product experience is absent. The book reports no new product trials.
The distinctions in this book are selective. A chapter can make one relationship easier to see and leave out something that matters in another situation. So agreement with a description is different from an adequate understanding of the work. The contents invite inquiry. They are not a checklist of every question that can arise.
