Current manuals, and the next App.

The Field Book, management manual and Agent User Manual now describe our current way of working: start from the intended result, use roles as needed, examine the evidence, and keep useful methods and source documents current.

The next version of the App is in development. App 3.0.1 remains available and is maintained until the next version ships. Read about the App.

Chirality App 3.0.1.

It is maintained until the next version ships. It is free and open source under the MIT licence, for Apple Silicon Macs running macOS 15 or newer. A ChatGPT account is required.

A maintenance release, from the first days of use.

Notices for questions you’ve already answered no longer stay on screen. You can choose a workflow partway through a conversation, and Inspect opens its instructions reliably. A workflow the assistant has just written can be reviewed and discussed before you add it to your library. Where a request allows it, you can approve an action for the rest of the session. Checking documents is better, including consistent headers in Excel tables.

Using App 3: permissions and data

It makes decisions as it works.

It chooses how to do each step, which files to read and which commands to run, and it can hand parts of a job to assistants of its own. It makes mistakes. Check what it produces, or have someone who knows the work check it.

By default, it edits your project without asking.

Out of the box it can change files inside the project folder without asking, and it refuses anything outside it. You can make it ask first, or keep it read only. Full access removes the limits and the prompts; use it only if you accept every action it takes.

What it reads goes to OpenAI.

Your messages, and whatever the assistant reads while it works, are sent to OpenAI under your ChatGPT account and OpenAI’s terms. Commands it runs on your Mac have no internet access unless you allow it.

Nothing goes to us.

There’s no Chirality account and no Chirality server, and the App sends nothing to us. Your documents and workflows are files in your folders; your conversations are kept by the App on your Mac.

Chirality App 3.0.

Chirality App 3.0 is available, free and open source, for Macs with Apple Silicon and macOS 15 or newer. Talk the work through with the assistant, have it write and carry out a plan, and keep a plan that worked as a workflow. It comes with about eighty workflows, some of them the ones we used to build it.
